DOZ attends Nasscom India

After having recently participated at the NASSCOM Leadership Forum 2011, Malek Al Malek, Managing Director, ICT Cluster expressed strong intent to forge stronger ties with Indian ICT companies and woo leading Indian IT professionals. As stated by Malek, prominent Indian companies like WIPRO, HCL, L&T Infotech and Sonata Software are today present in the DIC with an objective to expand their operations in the Middle-East and African markets. Being the largest managed ICT cluster in the Middle East and the first ICT cluster built in a free trade zone, DIC and DOZ have the capacity to provide a strategic platform to these major Indian companies that are constantly seeking to tap the tremendous opportunities emerging in the ICT sector in a vast region surrounding Dubai. DOZ Partners with 3rd Annual ‘Arab Outsourcing Conference’

Malek Al Malek, Managing Director, Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource Zone, highlighted the trends of the outsourcing industry at the third Annual Arab Outsourcing Conference in Dubai. During the conference, Malek addressed the report which names UAE as the second largest for the outsourcing market in the MENA region, after Egypt, thanks to competitive compensation costs, a rise in the quality of its management schools and an improvement in literacy scores.
The conference examined topics such as outsourcing successes and challenges, vested outsourcing, opportunities in outsourcing, leveraging talent, driving innovation, outsourcing strategically for sustainable competitive advantage, as well as outsourcing risk and governance, running shared services organisations in MEA and creating effective SLAs.
The event drew speakers from the Qatar Foundation, UAE telecommunications provider du, AT Kearney, University of Tennessee-Center for Executive Education, US, Nokia Siemens Network, and the Jordan Investment Board among others.

DOZ Partners 7th Financial Technology Summit and Meetings - Middle East.

DOZ partenered with the Financial Technology Summit for the second consecutive year, thereby highlighting is commitment to the banking and finance sector in the MENA region. Financial Technology Summit focussed on ‘Business trends and technology enablers in 2011-2012’. The by-invitation-only event drew high-profile IT decision-makers from the banking and financial sector in the Middle East. DOZ’s support to the event comes on the back of an increasing number of regional as well as global banks and financial institutions setting up support operations within the free zone, leveraging its array of mid and high-end services.

DOZ Releases Special Industry Report on the Outsourcing Industry

DOZ revealed the findings of a special report titled ‘Outsourcing Opportunities in the MENA Region’ in collaboration with Frost and Sullivan, a global business research and consulting firm, marking it’s 4th anniversary. The report focuses on the current status and future prospects of the industry at a global, regional and local level. It points out that the international outsourcing industry has witnessed a major shift in the past five years. The report highlights that the outsourcing industry is embarking on a growth path with global revenues projected to touch US$479.3 billion by 2016 from US$370 billion at present. Further, the global outsourcing markets will register a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.35 per cent, while MENA region is expected to witness a CAGR of eight per cent during the forecast period (2009-2016). The UAE outsourcing market will record a CAGR of 10 per cent during the same period.

DOZ holds 'MENA Outsourcing Report' Media Roundtable

Dubai Outsource Zone held a media round table to discuss the findings of the report that was released in collaboration with Frost and Sullivan. Malek Al Malek, Managing Director, Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource Zone, accompanied by Lindsay McDonald, Consultant, Middle East and North Africa-Information and Communication Technologies, Frost & Sullivan addressed the media. The roundtable was well attended by media who engaged themselves in the discussion and posed a host of questions to the spokespeople. A number of broadcast and print interviews were also conducted with Malek as well as Lindsey.
