Launches facility in Dubai Outsource Zone to enhance global footprint
Close on the heels of its merger with Serco, a leading FTSE 100 international service company, Intelenet today announced its foray in the Middle East market by setting up an outsourcing facility in the United Arab Emirates. The 200-seater facility is located in the Dubai Outsource Zone (DOZ), an apt base for businesses that engage in mid to high-end IT and BPO locations providing a highly facilitated infrastructure and environment conducive for outsourcing.
Intelenet’s new delivery centre will commence operations by offering services to clients in the telecom and banking and financial services domains. It will also offer multilingual capabilities in English, Arabic, Hindi, Tagalog and various other languages.
“The strategic foray in Dubai is in line with our growth story and adds a new regional dimension enabling us to expand our global footprint,” said Mr. Susir Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Intelenet Global Services. “The facility in the Dubai Outsource Zone will help us establish an onshore presence and provide local employment opportunities. Furthermore, the presence in UAE will serve as a hub that would help us reach out to other Middle East geographies and strengthen our existing proposition of providing end-to-end outsourcing solutions.”
Commenting at the launch of the Dubai facility, Tom Riall, Executive Chairman, Intelenet said, “We strongly believe in the superior set of capabilities and domain expertise that we possess as an organization. Our entry in the Middle East region is a cornerstone to access new international markets, fortify existing propositions, provide clients the support they need to meet their business goals and successfully drive the business forward in an ever-changing economic scenario.”
Malek Al Malek, Managing Director, Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource Zone, said: “We are pleased to welcome Intelenet Global Services into our fold. We are confident that the company will gain market leadership and benefit from the host of services made available at DOZ. Intelenet will progressively serve a wider market and organically grow its operational footprint in the region."
DOZ has successfully leveraged the emergence of the Middle East and North Africa region as an ideal outsourcing location. According to research firm AT Kearney, access to a vast pool of talent and close proximity to the home countries of companies seeking outsourcing services contribute to the region’s growing status as a preferred destination for the industry.
The research also highlighted that the UAE stands second in the region and is placed 15th globally as a hub for outsourcing companies. Among the factors that drive the UAE’s position are its competitive compensation costs, rise in the quality of its management schools and an improvement in the literacy rates. The country also leads in headquarters functions and services, which support many multinational corporations throughout the region. Cost pressures have additionally declined in the wake of the financial crisis, adding to the UAE’s attractiveness as an ideal and enabling outsourcing market.
DOZ provides a purpose-built infrastructure to companies extending outsourcing services in the region. The zone caters to entities specialising in services such as business process outsourcing, knowledge process outsourcing and legal process outsourcing. Additionally, it offers an environment that attracts different elements of the value chain, including banking and finance, insurance, IT, legal and airlines. |
