Dubai Outsource Zone (DOZ), a member of TECOM Investments, today announced it will be the strategic partner of the second annual GRC and Financial Crimes Conference and Exhibition 2010, an event focusing on governance, risk management and compliance, to be held in Dubai.

The event organized by Dubai-based professional services firm Allied Compliance Consultants (ACC) from 1-2 November at the Habtoor Grand Beach Resort, will provide a platform for senior managers, members of board of directors, chief executive officers (CEOs), and chief operating officers (COOs), as well as compliance, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing(AML/CTF), risk management, internal/external auditors and anti-fraud professionals to share their knowledge in open dialogues with regulators, international experts and industry professionals. This will help in raising the bar and learning best practices in the industry, meet with vendors and showcase their latest solutions and professional services.

The two days conference will provide a unique learning opportunity through a series of panel discussions, dialogues, workshops and presentations by international experts on the most crucial regulatory developments, ways to ensure compliance, manage risk and fight financial crimes. Delegates will interact with 20 international speakers, network with their colleagues, get awarded for their achievements, and gain access to industry best practices and white papers.

Malek Al Malek, Managing Director, Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource Zone, said: “As a leading outsourcing hub in the MENA region, DOZ looks forward to supporting similar initiatives setting benchmarks and best practices for the industry. The Conference will serve as an opportunity for professionals to gain insight from experts in addition to giving us a platform to interact with organisations that have the potential to grow as our ideal business partners.

“Since its inception, DOZ has also placed special emphasis on the banking and finance segment. Financial institutions such as the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), Dunia Finance, Mashreq and Habib Bank have set up their back office operations at the zone. Last year, Arab Bank from Jordan moved its headquarters to DOZ. The presence of such leading organisations strongly indicates their confidence in the security network, governance practices and compliance levels at the zone.”

Hossam M Abd El-Rahman, Managing Partner-ACC, said: “The concept of the GRC Framework has developed rapidly in the recent years. GRC consists of four basic components: strategy, processes, technology and people. On the other hand financial crimes including money laundering and fraud are on the rise, causing financial institutions severe losses and reputational damages. Organisations in the Middle East are now realising the relevance of maintaining security processes, conducting regular audits and assessing risk management within an organisation. The conference in Dubai will help industry professionals discuss, gain insight and understand the implications of governance, risk, and compliance as well as fight financial crimes.”

Dubai Outsource Zone provides a purpose-built infrastructure to companies extending outsourcing services in the region. The zone caters to entities specializing in services such as Business Process Outsourcing, Knowledge Process Outsourcing and Legal Process Outsourcing. Additionally, it offers an environment that attracts different elements of the value chain: Banking and Finance, Insurance, IT, Legal, Airlines, Hospitality etc.
